Welcome to the Department of Healthcare Policy and Research. The Department houses a collaborative and diverse faculty that focuses on a wide range of health policy and health care delivery issues. We apply this expertise to issues that affect public health policy, both close to home and across the globe.
Our faculty seeks to improve health and health care by linking evidence- based practice to policies that will promote the public’s health. The problems we address are critical and compelling, ranging from health insurance coverage and health disparities to efficiencies in the delivery of care.
The Department offers doctoral training to accomplished, diverse, and engaged students. Our students come from a variety of disciplines and settings and have considerable prior work experience, which enrich the learning experience with faculty and peers alike. The curriculum is designed to develop analytical and applied problem-solving skills by providing rigorous training in the quantitative methods and conceptual frameworks necessary for research careers in health policy.
